Hurt on the job in Clinton or anywhere in East Feliciana Parish? You may be owed medical coverage and wage benefits while you recover. We help injured workers get them, with a partner handling your case directly from start to finish.
Trial Lost in Over 20 Years
A workplace injury should mean medical care and steady benefits while you heal. Too often, the process turns into a fight before you have even recovered.
When benefits stall, the bills do not. You deserve someone who knows Louisiana’s workers’ compensation system and will push back on your behalf.
We help injured workers in Clinton navigate Louisiana’s workers’ compensation system and secure the benefits they are owed after an on-the-job injury. Whether your claim is straightforward or already in dispute, we handle the paperwork, the deadlines, and the insurer so you can focus on recovery.
A dedicated associate at our firm focuses on workers’ compensation cases. That means your claim is handled by someone who understands the specific rules, deadlines, and benefit types that govern Louisiana comp claims, not someone learning them as they go.
Workers’ compensation covers more than a single accident. We represent clients across the full range of on-the-job injury claims and the disputes that follow.
Sudden workplace accidents, from falls to equipment injuries, that leave you unable to work.
Repetitive stress and injuries that build over time from the physical demands of your job.
We challenge wrongful denials and fight to restore the benefits you were promised.
When the insurer contests your injury or your right to benefits, we build the case to prove it.
We push back when needed treatment is delayed or refused by the insurance company.
We pursue temporary, partial, and permanent disability benefits based on your situation.
If your employer or their insurer is making your claim harder than it should be, we can step in at any stage.
We built this firm on truly caring about our clients and their legal needs. When you hire us, you get the collective knowledge of the entire team behind your claim.
You work directly with an experienced attorney, not a junior associate managed from a distance. You get answers when you need them.

Your first consultation is completely free. We will listen to what happened, evaluate your claim, and explain your options with no obligation and no pressure.
Workers’ compensation cases are handled on a contingency basis, which means no win, no fee. You pay nothing out of pocket to get started. We advance the costs of pursuing your claim, and we only collect a fee if we secure benefits for you. Our goal is simple: get you the medical care and wage support you are owed.
"Great experience. They were very professional and were there whenever I called or needed them. My settlement was well worth the wait. I recommend them to anyone needing legal services. They will fight for you and get you what you deserve for your injuries. I didn't just gain good legal representation, I also gained friends and a law firm that cared."
"Great people who really care about your situation. They did everything possible to take care of my family. I would highly recommend Jason, Robert, and the whole team. Top notch."
"I couldn't be more pleased with choosing Jason and all of the associates at Melancon & Rimes. I was told by several people throughout the duration of my litigation that I was in good hands with one of the best attorneys in Louisiana, and the results did not disappoint. A very efficient group that worked diligently to win my case and keep me well informed along the way."
"Jason and his entire staff are terrific. They are honest, thorough, meticulous and totally professional. You could not ask for more from a law firm. Highly recommended."
Much of our business comes from clients who refer their friends and family to us. That trust is something we work to earn on every case.
When you hire Melancon, Rimes & Daquanno, you hire every attorney in the firm. Our three partners bring diverse talents and decades of combined experience to the greater Baton Rouge area, backed by a dedicated focus on workers’ compensation law.
Jason leads the firm’s litigation work. He earned his Juris Doctor from LSU Law School, where he served as a Senior Associate with the Louisiana Law Review, and he has been recognized as a Super Lawyer (2018-2021) and a Rising Star (2013-2015). He is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Robert leads the firm’s injury practice and has handled cases for injured Louisiana workers and their families since co-founding the firm in 2005. He earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, where he served on the Moot Court Staff and was one of five finalists in the J. Sanford Levy brief writing competition.
Lee has been with the firm since 2005 and became a partner in 2022. He manages day-to-day case operations, which means clients hear back quickly and know where their claim stands. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern University Law Center, where he was senior editor of the Southern University Law Review.
You will work with attorneys who know you as a person, not a file number.
You should report your injury to your employer within 30 days. Reporting promptly protects your claim. Waiting too long can give the insurer a reason to dispute it. As soon as you are able, notify your employer in writing and keep a copy for your records.
For injuries on or after July 1, 2024, you generally have two years from the date of injury to file. For injuries before that date, the deadline is one year. These deadlines are strict. Speaking with an attorney early helps make sure nothing is missed and your right to benefits stays protected.
Louisiana workers’ compensation can provide several types of wage benefits depending on your injury. Temporary total disability benefits support you while you cannot work during recovery. Temporary partial disability benefits cover reduced earning capacity while you recover. Permanent partial and permanent total disability benefits apply to lasting impairments. Medical treatment related to your injury should also be covered.
A denial is not the end of the road. Claims are denied for many reasons, and many denials can be challenged. We review why your claim was denied, gather the evidence needed to respond, and pursue an appeal to restore your benefits. The sooner you reach out after a denial, the more options you tend to have.
You have the right to pursue benefits for a work injury. If you believe you are being pressured, retaliated against, or treated unfairly because of your claim, talk to an attorney. We can explain your rights and help you respond.
Not every claim requires one, but if your claim is denied, your benefits are cut off, your injury is disputed, or you are being pushed back to work too soon, having an attorney makes a real difference. We handle the system so you do not have to fight it alone.
We are based in Baton Rouge and represent injured workers throughout the greater Baton Rouge region, including Clinton and the surrounding East Feliciana Parish communities. If you were hurt on the job anywhere in our service area, we can help.
